The Spanish government of Pedro Sanchez approved Sunday morning the establishment of the state of emergency during an extraordinary Council of Ministers. It will be banned from driving between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., confirming what the Spanish press describes as "night confinement".

However, this time, it is expected that the state of emergency will last six months, more precisely until May 9, with mandatory curfews, each Autonomous Community having the margin to delay or advance the time of the curfew. fire.

Borders should remain opened and the Canaries Islands will have an exceptional status due to the low level of contagion and the importance of tourism. Other restrictions are also planned, especially in terms of social gatherings. No more than six people can meet, unless they are from the same household.

The other big measure is travel between autonomous communities, which may be prohibited, except in situations justified for health or work reasons. The checks will be carried out by the security forces. The goal, according to Sanchez, is to lower the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants to 25.
