Half of Spanish people think that the coronavirus has an "intentional" origin

The coronavirus epidemic has hit Spain hard, both from a health and economic point of view. The virus, whose first outbreak appeared in China, has shattered the Spanish health care system and risks leaving traces in its economy, and the Spanish (like other countries) are looking for explanations and culprits. According to the latest ABC / GAD3 survey, one in two Spaniards thinks that the coronavirus has an “intentional” origin, and one in five does not pronounce it. Lisbob, the expatriate assistant in Spain, tells you all about this new investigation into the origins of the coronavirus.

According to the latest ABC / GAD3 barometer, almost half of Spanish people (49.1%) subscribe to a conspiracy theory, according to which the coronavirus has a clearly intentional origin. This theory that the virus was created or at least manipulated in order to spread faster meets strong support among the Spanish.

Surprisingly, socialist voters are the most “conspiratorist” with 54% who think that the coronavirus is not natural. On this point, the socialists do not disagree with their coalition partners: only 25% of the voters of Podemos believe in an alleged plot to "manufacture" the coronavirus.

On the other side of the political spectrum, 48% of the voters of the PP, 45% of those of Vox and 44% of the voters of Ciudadanos with suspicions about the natural origin of the coronavirus.

At the national scale, 49.1% of Spanish people believe that the coronavirus has an intentional origin. 31.9% disagree and 19% do not pronounce.

According to this ABC / GAD3 survey, at the end of the sixth week of confinement the majority of Spaniards admit that during all this time family relationships at home have improved (54.8%). Only 5.9% responded that the situation was worse than before confinement.

Another 47.8 percent say that the relationship with co-workers is also better now (perhaps because they can't see each other anymore?) While half (50.2%) even admit that they get along better with their neighbors right now. Lockdown doesn’t have only bad sides in Spain.
