Barcelona will open its beaches this Friday, only for swimming and individual sport
Barcelona City Council has announced that the city’s beaches will reopen starting Friday, May 8. Do not shout victory too quickly, access to the beaches will be strictly regulated: it will be necessary to go there only between 6h and 10h and only to do individual sport or to swim in a non "recreational" way.
The beaches will therefore remain closed to the general public, and each will have an entrance and an exit to be better controlled. In the afternoon, and only from Base Nautica, surfers will be able to train as well as athletes linked to a sports federation (and with proof). The time slot to be respected will be from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Beach cleaning and maintenance services will resume service and begin preparation for their full reopening once phase 3 is reached. Also, for the moment, it will not be possible to walk on the beach, and children will not be able to use the public games. For its part, the municipality indicated that the emergency services will not be active during this deconfinement.
Anyone who decides to do sport will do so on their own responsibility. Concerning the way in which the total reopening of the beaches will be done in Barcelona, the town hall indicated that this will not be done before phase "3 of the" desescalada ", and that it was studying several scenarios in order to enforce the distancing protect the users of the beaches of Barcelona.
