In a spectacular reversal of migration policy worthy of an April Fool's joke, Portugal has announced that it has found a successor to the famous 'Golden Visa' programme, which was deemed too banal and insufficient. Instead, the new Portuguese government is unveiling with fanfare and fireworks (ecological, of course) its brand new programme: the Supreme Platinum Visa. I'm Lisbob, the expat assistant, and I'll tell you all about this new Portuguese programme.

Portugal is breaking new ground with a spectacular return of the famous Golden Visa programme, in an even crazier form. The Supreme Platinum Visa is a new programme that offers much more than just the right of residence. This visa is a genuine invitation to live a life of luxury and opulence, with benefits worthy of a modern fairytale.

This ultra-exclusive programme, reserved for the elite of the elite, promises not only a Portuguese passport adorned with real diamonds (so that your status sparkles as much as your fortune), but also a series of benefits so extravagant that they would make the average person green with envy.

For the modest sum of 10 million euros, beneficiaries of the new Supreme Platinum Visa will receive :

  • A Portuguese title of nobility: By becoming a Platinum Supreme Visa holder, you have the opportunity to add an authentic Portuguese title of nobility to your name, such as "Count of Coimbra" or "Duke of Douro". It's the perfect opportunity to add a touch of royalty to your identity, underlining your elite status in society.

  • A personal vineyard in the Douro Valley: Imagine owning a piece of the picturesque Douro Valley, where vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see. This privilege allows you to proudly say "I'm rich" with your own source of Port wine, offering an incomparable viticulture and tasting experience.

  • A private masterclass in making Pastéis de Nata: Learn the art of creating these delicious Portuguese pastries directly from the President's head pastry chef in a private session. Your guests will be impressed and envious at your receptions when you serve them Pastéis de Nata made by your own hands.

  • A villa designed by a famous architect, with a view of the Hieronymites monastery: Stay in an architectural work of art, specially designed for you by a renowned architect. With breathtaking views of the Hieronymites Monastery, your home will be the epitome of luxury and Portuguese history.

  • A private jet decorated with traditional azulejos: Travel between your homes around the world in style and comfort, aboard your own private jet. The interior, decorated with traditional Portuguese azulejos, promises a unique and elegant journey, reflecting Portugal's rich cultural heritage.

  • An annual dinner with the Portuguese President: It's not every day you get to dine with a head of state. The Platinum Supreme Visa offers you this unique opportunity to discuss Portuguese taxation, the safekeeping of your gold and other matters of great importance, directly with the President of Portugal.

But be warned, the Platinum Supreme Visa is not for everyone. Only individuals who can prove that they have absolutely no need for this visa will be considered. After all, exclusivity comes at a price, and this one is the assurance that you're way above the need to live in Portugal - but that you choose to do so with a twinkle in your eye.

So, dear millionaires weary of earthly pleasures, Portugal opens its arms to you with the Supreme Platinum Visa. Because at the end of the day, if you can buy love, why not a little Portuguese prestige?
